This 12 by 16 inch oil painting is a real action view of two hummingbirds (male and female) tumbling through space together. This moment happens often enough but usually away from our prying eyes and the relative calm of our feeders. I do my best to capture their energy with my usual style of fine detail and free brush strokes.
The canvas is mounted on adhesive art board to give the entire picture a thin profile (approximately 1 inch deep) for easy and nearly flush mounting on your wall. The frame is solid wood and made in the USA. The frame is pre-wired for immediate hanging. The overall construction makes for a relatively light and easy to handle piece of art which would have an instant impact in any room of your home.
Because the brushstrokes are made to convey free feelings, I do not use varnish. Varnish can add unwanted glare and reflectivity.
